Sinulog Street Party Cebu

By Unknown

Don't know where to go during Sinulog?

Sinulog street parties are very popular in Cebu. Even though there's this news that the authorities didn't give any permit this year. The street parties were still there! VIVA PIT SENOR!

BASELINE
> this is one of the popular street parties you can go to during Sinulog. The street is full of people as early as 2pm! People are drinking beer, painting each other paints from all parts of the venue! It's fun for both drinkers and non-drinkers. There are many party-goers from Manila ( DLSU, ADMU, etc).

My friends and I went there at around 4pm to try the Sinulog Invasion Party. We didn't drink any liquor at that time. We went to where the stage is located and start dancing with the crowd. There's a lot of pushing and throwing liquors at the venue. People were still happy even after being wet by beer ( Hey! it's really fun, to throw beer and received the beer). After we went out to grab some dinner! We went back at around 8pm, and the party is still on! So we dance and bought a bottle of tequila/rhum ( i forgot, but I think it's 750ml). We partied that night, and witnessed fireworks display! Nice Song choice! :D My voice were only back after 2 days, because we keep on shouting "PIT SENOR!"

SIDELINE
> This street party is near BASELINE. It's just a block away from BASELINE. We just passed by to this party because we didn't see any DJ. However, there's still many people here. I guess it's as good as the one in BASELINE.

Few Reminders for Party Goers in Sinulog Street Parties
1. Bring your own Paint ( Poster colors ) --- We're sad, we didn't bring one. so we have to wait for people to put us some >:)
2. Don't throw the bottles anywhere --- at the latter part of the party, the floor is full of broken bottle. My friend got a small cut from his foot because of this.
3. Party early if you want to drink a lot. --- Drinks ran out fast because there are many people drinking and throwing at each other :)
4. I recommend you to leave your phone at the hotel because the event area is too crowded. Your valuables might lose there.
5. Bring a ziplock for your phone and wallet. Beer, water and hard drinks are just flying anywhere! You wouldn't want your phone to be soak in these liquids. >:)

*** I would surely go to the next SINULOG! VIVA PIT SENOR! ***

Cebu's Original Lechon Belly

By Unknown

Lechon is very popular in the country and yes! also in Cebu. It is one of the favorite local delicacy of the Cebuano and a "Must Eat" of the visitors.

Upon our arrival at Cebu, we went to different places to have fun. We weren't able to eat breakfast because of there's not enough time. So we decided to have a lunch at Parkmall. A friend of ours told us that there's delicious lechon there, and we have to try it!

CEBU's ORIGINAL LECHON BELLY
> This is not the fancy type of restaurant that you would imagine buying your Lechon. It's not that dirty as well. It's just like a kiosk outside the mall, where there are chairs and tables.

What we ordered?
> 4.6 kilos of Lechon Belly, 33 pieces of PUSO? --> Oh by the way, (PUSO = RICE)

It's really funny that we ordered that many because we are really hungry ( Takaw Tingin). We were supposed to order only 4 kgs, However, a friend of ours (JT) told us that we would only have to add 200 pesos and we would get 4.6 already... So we said YES! After paying the said amount, the food is served. WE WERE SO SHOCK! there's 5 plates full of Lechon! ( It's so many :((( ) In addition, we ordered many rice. I ordered 4.

What to use for eating this yummy food?
  • Paper Plate
  • Plastic Gloves ( No Spoon and Fork)
  • Washable Cup
Waiting Time/ Opening Time?
> This store opens at 10:30. It doesn't mean that the Lechon is already ready. Customers have to wait for it to be cooked from an unknown place ( it was delivered to their kiosk).

We ordered at 9:50, yet we still get NO. 8! ( can you imagine how long would it take for your order to be cooked? ) The lechon were started to arrive at around 11:30. The girl holding No.1 can't wait any longer so, we got No.1. We were able to eat around that time as well.

What makes Cebu Original Lechon Belly special?
> It is Boneless, Cheap, Delicious, Soft and Yummy! I SWEAR, It's one of the best Cebu Lechon I've tasted!

We are only 9 in our group, yet I only paid 250 pesos for that meal. It's like eating half kilo of Lechon( No bones) + 4 cups of Rice :) It's really worth it! :D In other table, they were around 5-6 people, sharing in 1 plate ( around 1 kg). Of course, there were left overs, that we took home for our island hopping the next day.

*** When you go to Cebu, you must visit this kiosk! You wouldn't regret eating their Lechon! **
