Lechon is very popular in the country and yes! also in Cebu. It is one of the favorite local delicacy of the Cebuano and a "Must Eat" of the visitors.
Upon our arrival at Cebu, we went to different places to have fun. We weren't able to eat breakfast because of there's not enough time. So we decided to have a lunch at Parkmall. A friend of ours told us that there's delicious lechon there, and we have to try it!
CEBU's ORIGINAL LECHON BELLY
> This is not the fancy type of restaurant that you would imagine buying your Lechon. It's not that dirty as well. It's just like a kiosk outside the mall, where there are chairs and tables.
> 4.6 kilos of Lechon Belly, 33 pieces of PUSO? --> Oh by the way, (PUSO = RICE)
It's really funny that we ordered that many because we are really hungry ( Takaw Tingin). We were supposed to order only 4 kgs, However, a friend of ours (JT) told us that we would only have to add 200 pesos and we would get 4.6 already... So we said YES! After paying the said amount, the food is served. WE WERE SO SHOCK! there's 5 plates full of Lechon! ( It's so many :((( ) In addition, we ordered many rice. I ordered 4.
What to use for eating this yummy food?
- Paper Plate
- Plastic Gloves ( No Spoon and Fork)
- Washable Cup
> This store opens at 10:30. It doesn't mean that the Lechon is already ready. Customers have to wait for it to be cooked from an unknown place ( it was delivered to their kiosk).
We ordered at 9:50, yet we still get NO. 8! ( can you imagine how long would it take for your order to be cooked? ) The lechon were started to arrive at around 11:30. The girl holding No.1 can't wait any longer so, we got No.1. We were able to eat around that time as well.
What makes Cebu Original Lechon Belly special?
> It is Boneless, Cheap, Delicious, Soft and Yummy! I SWEAR, It's one of the best Cebu Lechon I've tasted!
We are only 9 in our group, yet I only paid 250 pesos for that meal. It's like eating half kilo of Lechon( No bones) + 4 cups of Rice :) It's really worth it! :D In other table, they were around 5-6 people, sharing in 1 plate ( around 1 kg). Of course, there were left overs, that we took home for our island hopping the next day.
*** When you go to Cebu, you must visit this kiosk! You wouldn't regret eating their Lechon! **
